s33:
Lu Solis: A thought on consciousness
I regularly ponder the complexities regarding sentient thought, usually without much resolution. If you are unaware at this point, I make a routine of breaking ideas down to their simplistic, intrinsic values and initiate the thought process of redefining the original concept to only what is…
I agree that consciousness as we understand it (which I think of an awareness of awareness) cannot be reduced to a sub-biological level, however awareness itself may be rooted in sense or detection which goes all the way to the bottom of the cosmos. We have to ask ourselves, without us and our short, fast lives, do we imagine that the entire universe has no idea that it exists? Every galaxy and nebula forever mute, deaf, and blind in a state of unbeing? Can we presume that the sophisticated molecular mechanics of our cells must be only statistics in the dark, even while giving rise to its opposite; a concrete reality of multiple florid streams of sensation?
